When an individual makes the decision to lose weight, they have to make several life-altering choices.
These changes include the elimination of bad foods from their home, refraining from drinking liquids
that contain large amounts of sugar, and even avoiding fatty foods.  However, some individuals make
extreme and unhealthy choices, such as not eating regularly throughout the day, which can lead to
serious problems.

The Thought Process of Skipping a Meal

On average, the recommended amount of calories that an individual should consume daily is
approximately 1,800.  In order for an individual to maintain their current weight and remain healthy,
they need to prevent themselves from exceeding this limit when they eat their breakfast, lunch,
dinner and snacks.

Some individuals decide not to worry about their caloric intake by simply skipping a meal altogether.
Then they continue eating on a normal schedule.  However, many individuals will find themselves
overeating and will end up consuming more than the recommended amount of calories.

reducing its metabolism (the rate at which the body converts food into energy).

Regular Meals Are Important

If you begin to skip meals in an attempt to lose weight, you will more than likely gain weight due to this
practice.  Your body will store the fat it that has already accumulated, since when you begin to eat
again, your body will not burn the calories that you are consuming.  Instead, you should eat three main
meals a day, as well as a couple of healthy snacks in between.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, as it provides your body with the initial energy that it
needs to start the day.  A healthy breakfast can consist of cereals and fruits.  After several hours, you
should consider consuming a small snack to give your body an additional burst of energy.  This will
prevent you from being too hungry during your lunchtime, which helps avoid overeating.

A midday snack, as well as a balanced dinner, should be consumed at a respectable hour; you should
avoid eating late at night, as your body will not be able to burn off those calories, which will add to the
amount of fat in your body.

Eating regular, balanced meals are an important part of the weight loss process.  If you engage in meal
skipping, then you may not be able to reach your target weight.
